Trademark

Brand describes the look and feel of the brand and also the story related to it.

The evaluation addresses the question of whether an entry in the ‘Handelsregister’ (Commercial Register in Switzerland) protects the brand or whether separate trademark registration is required.

Function of WIPO, through its Madrid System, is to enable brand owners to seek trademark protection in multiple countries simultaneously by filing a single international application. This simplifies the process of registering and managing trademarks globally.

Search results with WIPO for similar brands like dingx. North-tec Maschinenbau GmbH (Germany) is a company with a potentially similar brand, trademark Ding.X applied in the EU. In addition, DINGX Tobacco (London) Limited has registered the trademark dingx in class 34 in the UK.

The preferred approach is to register the trademark dingx safely in Classes 35 (inventory management and marketplaces), 39 (logistics and storage) and, potentially, 40 (recycling, disposal and circular economy services). An additional class could be 36 (insurance), as there is no overlap with the trademark ‘Ding.X’ from North-tec Maschinenbau GmbH (Germany), which is already registered in the EU in classes 9 (software) and 42 (software as a service (SaaS), software design, consulting and development).
